GeoBattery energy  storage system
GeoAkku is a hydrogen-based energy storage system that harnesses the hydrostatic pressure of groundwater to provide cost-effective, safe and environmentally friendly long-term storage of green energy.
Energy Storage System Using Depleted Gas Wells
GeoAkku technology based on depleted gas and oil wells repurposes the existing infrastructure of decommissioned deep wells for large-scale energy storage using hydrogen and other gases. The solution can reduce the costs associated with conventional high-pressure storage and compressor systems, while giving currently unused wells a new energy function and economic value.
High-Pressure GeoAkku System
The hydraulic hydrogen pressure booster is a compressor-free technology that increases hydrogen pressure using hydraulic principles, enabling higher-pressure storage and industrial applications. The solution increases the energy density of the GeoAkku system, can reduce CAPEX per unit of stored hydrogen, and may offer lower maintenance requirements due to fewer moving parts.

Geo-Hydrogen Generator
The Geo-Hydrogen Generator is an integrated system that combines hydrogen production, hydrogen and oxygen separation, and process heat management within a single technology. The solution is designed to reduce the CAPEX and OPEX of green hydrogen production while enabling decentralised, on-site hydrogen generation.
Carbon capture
CO₂ Capture and Utilisation Technology
The CO₂ capture technology converts carbon dioxide from the air into stable, industrially usable calcium carbonate, or limestone. Integrated with hydrogen production, the system can reduce CO₂ emissions and carbon allowance costs, while creating a new revenue stream through the sale of the produced limestone as a raw material.
Heat generation
Karbitherm Heating and Chemical Heat Storage System
The Karbitherm boiler is a chemical heat generation and energy storage technology based on a closed CO₂ loop, capable of providing thermal energy without burning fossil fuels. The system stores electrical energy in chemical form and converts it into heat on demand, making it particularly suitable for the long-term, including seasonal, utilisation of renewable energy for heating purposes.

Building and testing the GeoAkku 1.0 prototype

Construction of the GeoAkku 1.0 prototype is underway, designed for a 15-bar pressure range with the goal of reaching TRL 4-5. The prototype is being built for operation in a real-world environment.

On November 26, 2025, we received a communication from the European Patent Office: the examining division intends to grant a European patent for the core technology of GeoAkku.
